Ma May Aung and Paul Hope Mears

An ABL member was made aware of this family situation not long ago and is now searching for descendents of Ma May Aung and Paul Hope Mears, police officer. He was Deputy Supdt. of Police, Thayetmyo in 1915 and left Burma in 1922.

The family was separated in 1922/23 for reasons known only to the parents, two children stayed in Rangoon with their mother, Elsie and George (b. 1916-1923) and two were taken to England with their father, Molly b. 25th Oct. 1913 and James (Jimmy) b. 4th Dec. 1916.

The family were still in contact 1934, a typed letter exists, by way of a reply, from Ma May Aung to her mother-in-law and is signed “May.“

The questions:- are Elsie or George still alive and do they have any descendents.  If you recognise anyone in the following photos please get in touch with us.
